A floor-length silk patchwork gown in bamboo taffeta, cut from black, gold, and warm orange panels joined by hand at the Hanoi atelier. Across the front, black silk tags cascade on fine white strings, drawn like clapperboards falling from above, and at the base a silhouette of a woman stands in profile against the warm light. Cap sleeves, high neckline, side slit at the calf, hand-embroidered outlines. Part of the Cinema Collection, designed by Laura Fontan Pardo for Vietnam Fashion Week 2025.

The story
SPOTLIGHT
Designed by Laura Fontan Pardo for the Cinema Collection at Vietnam Fashion Week 2025. The gown is the star. If Countdown was the film beginning, Projector the machine casting the light, and Anaglyph the audience learning to see it, this is the moment the light finds her. She stands at the base of the dress in silhouette, one woman in profile, held in a pool of gold and orange. Above her, the clapperboards fall from the darkness like snow. "You don't have to be in the movies to be a star," Mae West said. Laura took the line and drew it. Not a Hollywood star or a face on a marquee, but a woman standing in her own light, alone at the base of the frame, calmly held by a warm circle that everyone in the theatre sees but no one gave her. She lit herself. She got there on her own.
