Care guide
Every Chula print begins as a photograph or a drawing, and every appliqué is cut and stitched by hand. That is what makes a piece worth keeping, and it is why it asks a little more of you than something printed by machine.
Care by piece
In general
Storage
On a hanger, with room around it. Folded for long periods, the paint can crease along the fold and the crease will stay.
Drying
Never tumble dry. If a piece gets wet, hang it in shade and let it dry slowly. Direct sun will fade the colour faster than anything else.
Ironing
Cool iron, inside out, and never directly onto a painted or appliquéd area. Steam held at a distance is safer than contact.
Professional dry cleaning Hanoian Gate Gown · Queen's Necklace Dress
To preserve the quality, colour, and craftsmanship of these pieces, we recommend professional dry cleaning.
Delicate fabrics and artisanal details are sensitive to water, friction, and handling. Dry cleaning is the most reliable way to care for the garment while keeping the fabric, colour, and decorative work intact.
Choose a cleaner experienced with delicate and hand-finished garments. Please also read the care label sewn into your piece — individual garments sometimes carry additional instructions.

Gentle hand wash Highland Lotus Dress · Spinal Geometries Gown · Princess Necklace Dress
To preserve the quality, colour, and artisanal details of these pieces, wash gently by hand in cold water with a mild detergent.
Take particular care around embroidered, printed, and hand-finished areas. Avoid rubbing, wringing, or twisting, any of which can disturb the fabric or the decorative work.
Afterwards, let the garment dry naturally — line dry or dry flat, whichever suits its construction. Please also read the care label sewn into your piece.

Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag first. It reduces friction and protects the printed surface through the wash.

If something is wrong
What is not normal
A seam that has given, a fastening that has failed, colour somewhere it should not be. That is not variation, and we would want to know.
If something happens
Write to us with a photograph. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired, and what that would involve.
Repairs
Pieces are made to last, and we would rather mend one than see it replaced. The same tailors who made your piece are still in the workshop in Tây Hồ, and most things can be put right.
