Ribbons of taffeta cross the front of this tunic in slow, arcing lines, each one laid by hand and traced with fine running-stitch embroidery. In the red version, the ribbons carry a printed pattern drawn from chăn con công, the vivid floral blankets remembered in Vietnamese family homes. Cut, applied, and finished by hand at the Hanoi atelier.
Care
We recommend a cold, delicate cycle, preferably in a mesh laundry bag, with a mild detergent. Reshape gently and allow to air dry naturally.

The story
LINES IN MOTION
A composition drawn in ribbon. Long strands of taffeta, each in a different color, are cut by hand and stitched across the front of the tunic in slow crossing lines, like brushstrokes suspended mid-motion. A second pass in running-stitch traces each ribbon, so the lines are both drawn and sewn. In the red version, the ribbons carry a different memory. Their pattern is drawn from chăn con công, the bright floral blankets that became familiar in Vietnamese homes during the subsidy era, and stayed on through weddings, Tết mornings, and the beds of childhood. The lines here don't only move. They remember. The base is Dui , a light Vietnamese silk where the color quiets down as the piece moves, and the ribbons seem to travel across the fabric with the wearer.
