The Founders
Diego Cortizas, designer and creative director, shaped Chula’s artistic language, while Laura Fontán built its voice, relationships and presence in the world.
In 2005, Diego Cortizas and Laura Fontán founded Chula in Hanoi, bringing together their Spanish heritage and their fascination with Vietnam’s colour, culture and craft. Through Diego’s designs and Laura’s vision, they created a house where fashion became a celebration of individuality, artistry and the joy of making. From its earliest days, Chula has placed the hands and imagination of its makers at the heart of creation. Their spirit continues to shape the House today, inspiring every garment, every craft and every story we create.
