Across the front of this blouse, lotus leaves are hand-stamped in soft greens using carved wooden blocks, surrounded by fine embroidered lines in pink and red that trace the movement of water around them. Cut from Dui in ivory, a Vietnamese silk that falls softly with wear. Stamped, embroidered, and finished by hand at the Hanoi atelier.
Care
We recommend a cold, delicate cycle, preferably in a mesh laundry bag, with a mild detergent. Reshape gently and allow to air dry naturally.

The story
LÁ SEN
Lá sen, the lotus leaf. Where hoa sen, the lotus flower, is the ceremony of Vietnamese life, lá sen is its daily rhythm. Broad and green, the leaves float on ponds across the country and shelter almost everything: sticky rice wrapped in a market stall, tea leaves kept dry through the rainy season, small offerings carried to a temple. The flower is admired. The leaf is used. On this blouse, the leaves drift across the fabric in soft greens, hand-stamped with carved wooden blocks and traced by hand in fine embroidered lines that suggest ripples of water around them. The composition gathers on one side and opens into stitched movement on the other, as if a breeze had just passed across the surface of a pond. Cut from Dui in a relaxed silhouette, the blouse falls softly against the body and moves through the day. A small piece of the pond, carried into the day.
