At the neckline of this floor-length dress, geometric shapes are hand-stamped with carved wooden blocks and outlined in fine embroidered stitches. Diamonds, stepped lines, spirals, and small checkerboards form a collar of pattern that recalls the ornamental neckpieces of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian textile tradition. Cut from Dui silk in a lightly textured weave. Stamped, embroidered, and finished by hand at the Hanoi atelier.
Care
We recommend professional dry cleaning to preserve the delicate fabric and artisanal details of this piece.

The story
QUEEN'S NECKLACE
Across Vietnam and much of Southeast Asia, textile traditions have long carried their most intricate patterns close to the neck, in embroidered collars, woven yokes, and ceremonial neckpieces worn for weddings and festivals. The geometry is a shared visual language, moved between communities and countries for centuries, worked from memory and adapted from hand to hand. On this dress, that language is drawn anew. Wooden blocks, carved by a local Vietnamese woodcarver, are inked at the atelier and pressed onto the silk one impression at a time, then traced in fine embroidered stitches that give the pattern its raised, panel-like weight. The composition sits at the throat like a piece of woven jewelry, framed by the silk beneath it, holding the eye where a necklace would. Cut from Dui silk in a fitted line to the floor, the dress wears its ornament the way a queen wears her necklace. Designer Diego Cortizas.
