Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website leaves on your device so it can remember something — the language you read in, what is in your basket, whether you have seen this notice before.

We use few of them. This page says what each one is for and who sets it.

Your choices

You made your choice when you first arrived. Everything except strictly necessary cookies is off until you turn it on, and you can change your mind at any time from the cookie preferences panel.

Refusing everything but the necessary will not stop you shopping. Some conveniences — a remembered currency, a saved wishlist — will simply not carry from one visit to the next.

What we use

Strictly necessary — always on

Your basket, secure checkout, fraud prevention, and keeping the site standing up under load. These cannot be switched off: without them there is no shop.

Functional

Currency converter · Locale preference · Wishlist

These remember how you like to browse — the market and language you read in, the pieces you have saved. Turn them off and those choices reset each visit.

Performance

Google Analytics · Shopify analytics · Judge.me

These count visits and show us which pages are read and which are abandoned. We use them to decide what to photograph again and what to rewrite. They tell us about pages, not about people.

Targeting

Meta · Google Ads · Klaviyo

These let us show Chula to people who might want it, stop showing it to people who have already bought, and measure whether an advert led anywhere.

Sale or sharing of personal information

Some US states give you the right to refuse having your personal information sold or shared for advertising. Where that right applies, this appears as its own row in your cookie preferences and you can refuse it there. It is not shown elsewhere, because elsewhere it does not apply.

How long they last

Some expire the moment you close the tab. Others stay so a returning visitor is not asked the same question twice. The exact life of each one is set by the company that issues it and varies between them.

Managing cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set and delete them, and most let you block them in advance. Blocking all cookies at browser level will break the basket and checkout — here and on most other shops.

Changes to this page

If we add or remove a tool, we update this page and the preference panel together.
